A recent stop through Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has landed 50 Cent in hot water. The rapper was in the area for a promotional event for Effen vodka, and while at CVG he came across an airport employee he believed to be under the influence of drugs.
In a since-deleted video shared on Instagram and Twitter, 50 Cent can be heard harassing the employee, identified as 19-year-old Andrew Farrell, for how he looks. “What kind of shit you think he took before he got to work today? He high as a motherfucker right here in the airport,” 50 says. “Pupils dilated and everything, looking like… the new generation is fucking crazy.”
Andrew has dealt with social anxiety his whole life, and in an interview with Local 12 Cincinnati, Andrew’s stepfather, Ken, called out 50 Cent for his actions that day. “You come up and you start talking to a kid you know nothing about. That’s not fair. That’s a slap in the face,” he said. “Here’s a guy who people look up to, and he’s going to act like that?”
A former classmate of Andrew’s also posted on social media regarding the incident. “I hope you feel good about yourself,” he wrote in the caption. “You just lost a huge fan.”
Others have taken to 50 Cent’s Instagram page to share their disapproval with what the rapper did, which you can see below:
Andrew’s family has asked for a public apology from 50 Cent, with his stepfather adding that the rapper doesn’t “deserve to come to Cincinnati at all” if he decides not to meet the request. We reached out to 50 Cent’s rep for comment and will update when available.
