A$AP Mob Performs ‘Yamborghini High’ on Jimmy Fallon

A$AP Mob made their debut on The Late Night Show Starring Jimmy Fallon performing “Yamborghini High,” a tribute to the group’s founder A$AP Yams. Steven “A$AP Yams” Rodriguez passed away January 18 of last year from an accidental drug-overdose. The NYC hip-hop crew also showed up to promote their upcoming mixtape, Cozy Tapes Vol. 1.

The group offered a high energy, camouflage performance, decked with psychedelic lighting and what appeared to be a trippy recreation of their “Yamborghini High” music video. The Fallon performance also looked like a simulation of the A$AP Mob headquarters.

The track honoring Yams has been out since earlier this year, but the A$AP Mob is pushing the single and keeping it hot for summer until the release of their collective mixtape.

Unfortunately, the hype surrounding their performance and upcoming mixtape has not overshadowed the recent controversy surrounding A$AP Rocky’s comments in the wake of the latest fatalities surrounding police brutality and #blacklivesmatter. A$AP hit The Breakfast Club yesterday (July 20) in an effort to clarify his recent remarks and the uproar he caused hours prior to their performance. A$AP Rocky said “All Lives Matter” and cited “black on black crime” and the mass killings overseas to defend himself and justify his remarks.
