Chicago’s Alex Wiley released an album, Village Party 2: Heaven’s Gate, in November that had his fans anxious for more of his music. The not-so-long wait is now over. Wiley released his 10-track mixtape Tangerine Dream, Sunday (June 12) night.

The mixtape is led by the recently released hit singles “Red Pill” and “INEEDTHAT”, with features from the likes of frequent collaborator Hippie Sabotage and upcoming rapper Low Gravity, who blesses two separate tracks on the tape.

The title Tangerine Dream shares its name with a German electronic band that was founded in the 1960s; and Wiley carries some of that electronic influence throughout the project.

The 23-year-old rapper’s latest follows a wave of new music coming out of the Chi, such as Chance the Rapper’s released Coloring Book in May and Vic Mensa’s There’s Alot Going On which were both released earlier this month.

After numerous retweets and support from his fans via social media, Wiley announced he’ll be preforming in Chicago this Saturday.

But that won’t be the only show. He also tweeted that he will be visiting a few other cities, with more in the works, very soon. However, no specific dates were released for the additional cities.
