Another Bobby Shmurda Associate Sentenced to 53 Years in Prison news

Another member of Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 crew was slapped with a lengthy prison sentence for his role in several shootings in Brooklyn, N.Y.

According to the New York Daily News, 22-year-old Alex Crandon was sentenced to 53 years in prison during his trial on Friday (May 20). Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Abraham Clott threw the book at him for terrorizing East Flatbush over a two year period.

Crandon tried to save himself with his mumbled statement about being a productive citizen but the judge wasn’t buying it.

“The community must be protected given the enormity of the crimes here,” Clott said. “[There’s] really no reason to risk the safety of the public.”

Clott is the same judge who sentenced fellow GS9 member, Rashid “Rasha” Derissant, to 98 years in prison. Derissant was found guilty of the same charges as Crandon – murder, attempted murder and conspiracy on top of other charges.

Meanwhile, Bobby Shmurda’s trial has been pushed back until September. The “Hot Boy” rapper is facing the same charges (and more) as his other fellow GS9 members. This will be the fourth postponement of Shmurda’s trial since his arrest in December 2014. Since then, the 21-year-old rapper had his bail denied on several occasions.

All of this doesn’t bode well for Bobby Shmurda’s case. Hopefully, he will be able to put up a strong defense when his trial begins.
