Remember when Azealia Banks got royally dragged on Twitter by 14-year-old Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson? Well, it was over her racial remarks to One Directioner Zayn Malik. The backlash from that skirmish resulted in Banks getting kicked off the U.K. Born & Bred Festival.
Much like everyone on Twitter, organizers of the U.K. festival had enough of Banks’ acerbic comments on social media. They posted a tweet announcing that the Harlem rapper is no longer headlining the London event.
“We decided to cancel Azealia Banks’ headline appearance at Rinse | Born & Bred Festival,” it reads, adding, “We celebrate inclusivity and equality.”
This comes after she criticized Zayn for copying her style in his new video for “Like I Would.”
Zayn didn’t pay her no mind, but he did tweet to her, “No lies … I see you reaching but I don’t care.”
This sent Banks into a tizzy and she tweeted out several racist remarks to the pop singer. At one point, she called Zayn a “token sand n—–.”
Since then, Banks addressed why she went after Zayn on her Twitter account. She tweeted:
Thoughts on everything (loads of typos) pic.twitter.com/kmGhgkrKyz
