Beyonce Launches Fund to Help Efforts in Flint Water Crisis news

Following in the footsteps of Big Sean, Meek Mill and others, Beyonce has launched a campaign to help aid families affected by the water crisis in Flint, Mich.

According to a press release, fans will have the opportunity to participate in the R&B songbird #BeyGOOD initiative during her Formation World Tour. Beyonce and the United Way are “partnering with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to create a fund that will address long-term developmental, education, nutrition and health needs of the children affected by the Flint water crisis,” it reads.

Beyonce’s Formation World Tour kicks off April 27 in Miami and will hit every major city in North America, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit (May 29), Philadelphia and New York before wrapping it up on June 12 in Hershey, Pa. Then Queen Bey will take her trek across the pond and hit European venus beginning June 28 in the U.K.

Beyonce joins a list of celebrities who have contributed monies and water to Flint, Mich., any people grapple with the city’s water supply being severely tainted.

Detroit native Big Sean donated $10,000 to launch his initiative, which will go to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan’s Flint Child Health & Development Fund. Fellow rapper Meek Mill donated $50,000 to get bottled water delivered to Flint, Mich., and Diddy partnered with Eminem and others to have one million bottles of AQUAhydrate water donated to the Flint Water Crisis.

Salute to Beyonce for launching her campaign to help people in Flint, Mich. Hopefully, this will encourage other music stars to do the same.
