It looks like lemonade companies owe Beyoncé a little gratitude. Natalie Sexton, the CEO of Florida-based juice company Natalie’s Juices, told The Huffington Post her company’s lemonade sales have doubled since the release of Bey’s album LEMONADE. “People are drinking lemonade and posting pictures with #Beyoncé,” Sexton said. “You can’t drink lemonade these days without thinking of her.”
Of course, lemonade sales usually go up as the weather gets warmer, so it’s hard to trace it all back to Beyoncé. Then again, her casual name-drop of Red Lobster on “Formation” caused sales at the seafood chain to increase by 33 percent in Febryart. With that kind of track record, it’s not difficult to believe she may have had a similar effect on the lemonade-buying public. “Sales are increasing. We’re up about 20 percent,” said Matt McLean of Uncle Matt’s juice. “I don’t know if that’s due to Beyoncé or the heat. Maybe it’s Beyoncé. We’d send her some free lemonade — it’s organic!”
As the title of her album, the word lemonade has been all over the internet recently, along with the lemon emoji used by her fans. With all this lemon talk on the brain, perhaps Bey really has convinced people to pick up some lemonade just in time for summer. Between that and her new investment in watermelon juice company WTRMLN WTR, it looks like she’s gunning for control of the beverage game in 2016.
