Birdman Reportedly Let Tyga Out of His Contract Without Consulting Lil Wayne news

Lil Wayne and Birdman's seemingly never-ending drama continues on Monday with new reports that Tyga was released from his contract without Lil Wayne's input. TMZ claims that Birdman allowed Tyga out of his contract with YMCMB without consulting Wayne on the decision. Since Cash Money owns 51% of Wayne's Young Money label, technically Birdman doesn't have to consult with Wayne about any decisions he makes for the label. Still, the move allowed Tyga to leave and get snatched up by Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music without Wayne's involvement at all. According to the report, this was yet another one of the reasons behind Wayne and Birdman's very public falling out.

Tyga publicly split with the label after airing grievances about his fellow Young Money rappers back in 2014. "I don't like Drake as a person," he said. "I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda like we were forcing relationships together." He threatened to leak his project The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, and ended up dropping it via his own Last Kings imprint.

The report comes on the heels of another yesterday, which claimed that Birdman spent almost 3/4 of the $100 million advance from Universal Music Group that they had agreed to share. According to Wayne, Birdman claimed he was taking the money for things like marketing expenses and royalty payments, but was never clear about where exactly it was all going. The issue is a major part of Lil Wayne's $51 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money.
