Bobby Shmurda's Trial Postponed Yet Again news

Bobby Shmurda’s trial, which was originally scheduled to start on February 22 before it was pushed back to May, has been postponed for a second time. New York’s Director of Public Information at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor Kati Cornell confirmed the postponement to XXL on Monday and revealed that the trial will not begin until September. Attorneys representing Shmurda and his GS9 affiliates Rowdy Rebel, Quento, and Montana Flea reportedly requested the delay, although their reasons for doing so are currently unknown.

Shmurda and his crew have been in the news a lot lately. On April 30, Shmurda announced that he would be suing the NYPD for false imprisonment in relation to his arrest nearly two years ago. He claimed that the NYPD illegally entered the home of his friend and that he was falsely accused of possessing a gun and drug paraphernalia. Shmurda is facing charges including conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. He has pled not guilty on all charges.

Last week, the body of alleged GS9 affiliate Peter Martinez washed up on Manhattan Beach in New York City. As DNA Info reported, Martinez’ body was covered in plastic bags, and his feet were encased in cement. His death has been labeled a homicide, but no arrests have been made, and none of the members of GS9 have commented on the situation.

In April, two of Shmurda’s other GS9 affiliates Rasha and A-Rod were found guilty of murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy in relation to the death of a 19-year old who was supposedly a member of a rival gang, according to a report from XXL.

Stay tuned for further details regarding Shmurda’s legal issues.
