Boosie Badazz has been very outspoken about the rash of police shootings against civilians, particularly in his native hometown of Baton Rouge. To further make his point, the rap vet released the solemn “Fly Away,” where he addresses police brutality and social ills in the black community.

Over a melodic piano groove, Boosie references the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray and Tamir Rice. He also express heartbreak over the street violence that’s plaguing black communities.

“Mad crimes, cold judges, mamas losing sons / He ain’t even got his driver’s license, but he’s shooting guns,” he raps, adding, “there’s too many n—-s I know dead on the corners.”

“I just want to fly away to ease my mind…take a trip where they got 1 percent homicide,” he spits on the chorus.

Boosie believes the violence will not stop until crooked cops get convicted for committing criminal acts against black people.

“I don’t think it’s going to stop until they start convicting these [bad] officers of what they doing,” he said. “And if that guy don’t get indicted [for killing Alton Sterling] and sent to prison for life, it’s going to be another war, it’s going to be another shooting and it’s going to keep going on.”
