Chance the Rapper chopped it up with the Power 106 LA crew recently, and one of the biggest talking points was the status of his rumored joint-project with Kanye West, titled Good Ass Job. According to Chance, it’s still in the works, but we won’t be seeing it anytime soon. “It’s definitely far from done. It’s something that gets brought up in conversation every once in a while,” he said. Chance first talked about the joint project back in May during an extensive interview with Zane Lowe.

“The Good Ass Job, that’s something that’s just been a dream for me,” Chance explained. “I’m a Chicago kid, so I’m a super ‘Ye fan, and I used to watch all the, you know, YouTube videos and, like, him speaking. And I remember just watching a video a long time ago where he would go on, he was explaining, you know, how you have your College Dropout, and then you go back you have your Late Registration, and then you finally get your Graduation. And after you graduate, you gotta go get a Good Ass Job.”

According to Chance, this idea always stuck with him. “So that was a thing in my head forever, and, you know, if you’re a Ye fan, you know, then he went on 808s & Heartbreak, and then you’re like, ‘OK, Good Ass Job will be next,’ and then he does Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch the Throne,” he explained.

“And all of those things are albums that shaped my life, but I just, I cannot wait to, you know, really just bunker down. We definitely have at least two songs I could say I know would be on Good Ass Job, but to be, you know, back in the bunker and be at the spot and have that time to just sit and make stuff everyday is my dream.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Chance discussed going to Beyoncé’s birthday party, getting drunk at the VMAs, and more. You can check out his whole interview in the video above.
