Ciara’s legal battle against her ex-fiancee Future is about to get really messy. CiCi has filed documents in conjunction with her $15 million lawsuit against Future. The latest filings puts the Atlanta rapper in a real bad light.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, the “I Bet” singer is suing more so for libel than anything else. In her documents, they contain lengthy emails between the former couple’s attorneys, which includes accusations of Future missing opportunities to visit with his son, using profanity and slandering Ciara on social media.
In one e-mail, the 30-year-old singer’s attorney, Tanya Mitchell Graham, explain why the “Where Ya At” rhymer was hit with a cease-and-desist order and asked to retract comments he said about her client on Twitter.
As may recall, Future jumped on his Twitter page in January and criticized Ciaria over her child support request. “This bitch got control problems,” he tweeted. “I gotta go through lawyers to see baby future…the f—ery for 15k a month.”
Future never apologized, which prompted this hefty lawsuit from Ciara.
In one shocking accusation, Ciara claims that Future returns their baby son, Future, Jr., in dirty clothes “smelling like smoke” and “reeking of urine.”
Meanwhile, Future’s lawyer, Jeff Smith, is accusing Ciara and her attorneys of “artificially escalating the situation.”
Ciara is suing for “emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation, stress, anger, mental pain and suffering.” CiCi is seeking $10 million for punitive damages and to “deter” Future from making further comments about her on social media. She also wants $250,000 to cover her legal fees, a retraction and an apology from Future.
If you take a look at the documents, you can possibly see why Ciara had to file a $15 million lawsuit. Whether the amount is too high or not, the singer is not tolerating any disrespect from Future.
What do you think of Ciara suing Future for $15 million? Does she have a legitimate case or is she just blowing things out of proportion?
