Demi Lovato is going off the grid. Kinda. When one feels the need to put their respective social media presences on pause, a unique problem presents itself: How the hell do I tell everyone that I’m quitting Twitter, Instagram, et al? Lovato chose Twitter to let her fans know that she’s leaving Instagram and, yes, Twitter in light of some recent developments involving Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez:
Big if true. But what about Snapchat? Fear not. Demi’s still down for the snaps and even generously reminded everyone where to find her:
After announcing her departure, Lovato then pondered why everyone cared so much about her tweets and ‘grams in the first place, particularly when they could easily discuss far more important concerns:
Word. As previously reported, Lovato recently inserted herself into Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez’s fascinating feud by first offering her take on an Ariana Grande meme before fighting off the Carey stans with some feud-fueling words.
“The woman is mean for no reason,” Lovato said of Mariah Carey, adding that “it’s nasty” the way she treats J. Lo. “Extremely talented? Yes. Superhuman? Possibly. Unnecessarily rude? Absolutely.” Of course, fans of both artists let those words go by entirely unnoticed and offered no additional commentary. Kidding! Shit got really real, really fast.
At the time of publication, Lovato’s Twitter and Instagram accounts still remained very much online. So maybe this is just a temporary break and/or Snapchat has finally convinced our nation’s tastemakers that it’s the only communication tool anyone really needs. Here for it.
