Turning the page from a much-publicized social media flap involving Taylor Swift yesterday, Demi Lovato is back tonight with the new video for “Stone Cold.” The emotional clip finds Lovato wandering the snowy plains by herself, curling up next to a giant fireplace, and taking a bath in a gray sweater. “Stone cold/Stone cold/You see me standing, but I'm dying on the floor,” she begins, launching into the raw, heartfelt ballad.
“It was actually the hardest video I've ever shot,” she told ET about the video shoot in Park City, Utah. “One, because emotionally it's difficult, but two, at one point, I'm in the snow and it's up to my waist—that's literally how deep the snow was—so when you have like three pairs of leggings and you're in the snow, and it's not snow pants, I wrung my pants afterwards. It was just soaking wet because I had been in the snow for so long.” Although the shoot sounds tough, the results are dramatic, with beautiful shots of snowy landscapes populating the scenes.
“Stone Cold” is just the latest video from Lovato's 2015 album Confident, which has also produced hits like “Cool For the Summer” and “Confident.” You can check out Lovato's newest cinematic output above.
