The divorce process for these two has been on-going since Tashera filed for a divorce in 2012. “We’ve been in conversations,” said DMX’s lawyer Adrian Auerbach (via Bossip). “We would like to work toward a settlement.”
Apparently, the four-year process has allowed the two to pace themselves and be on better terms. In 2014, Tashera began opening up to the press about DMX’s infidelities and the reason she chose to file.
“The day that I finally decided to do that wasn’t because of the drugs, sadly,” she said in an interview with Forbes DVD. “I mean, he would run all over me. Talk to me any kind of way. Anything, in front of the kids with the drugs…I still felt like I made an oath.”
Joseph Daniels, Tashera’s lawyer, explained the (previously battling) couple is now working mutually to divide assets from their marriage and they’re also in a better place to reveal their income information to one another.
We are glad that DMX and Tashera are working things out. It’s been a long legal journey.
