Fat Joe reportedly has the inside scoop on the unlucky Knicks player mentioned in The Notorious B.I.G.‘s song, “I Got a Story to Tell” off of 1997’s Life After Death.

On an episode of ESPN’s Highly Questionable, Fat Joe revealed the mystery behind the NBA baller mentioned on the track. To help you jog your memory, Biggie rhymes: “She get d— from a player off the New York Knicks / N—- tricked ridiculous, the s— was plush / She’s stressin me to f—, like she was in a rush / We f—– in his bed, quite dangerous / I’m in his ass while he playing against the Utah Jazz.”

B.I.G. then rapped about the baller coming back home only to find him in his bed with his girl. Naturally, the late rapper pulled out a gun on him to avoid any further conflict — but not before he also grabbed a thousand dollars from the NBA player.

Many rap fans have wonder who the unlucky Knicks player is in the song. Some thought it was John Starks but he denied it.

However, Fat Joe revealed who it is: former New York Knicks forward Anthony Mason, who passed away in 2015.

The “Lean Back” rapper also added that rappers tend to “stretch the truth” and “change things up” as well, so everything in Biggie’s song shouldn’t be taken for gospel — per se.
