AlunaGeorge have released a soulful new track from their upcoming second LP, ‘I Remember’
"I don't think this is fixable," Aluna Francis tells a love-wrecked friend on "Mediator," a quiet-storm breeze from AlunaGeorge's upcoming second LP, I Remember. "I'm not gonna get political," she warns over a lush groove of strings, wah-wah keys and throbbing bass. "But darling, there's no hope for you."
I Remember is out September 16th via Interscope. AlunaGeorge (Francis, producer-instrumentalist George Reid) wrote and recorded the album in L.A. and London, aiming to expand their electronic style. "We were going for that holy grail of songwriting," Francis said in a statement. "It was an attitude of 'let's see what else we can do,'" added Reid.
The album features guest spots from Pell, Zhu, Leikeli47, Dreezy and Popcaan. "It started to feel a bit like we had all these friends in music that we liked hanging out with but we haven't shared AlunaGeorge with anyone else, and at some point we were like 'why not?'" Francis said. "Let's open it up a bit more. We wanted to let people in a bit more now that we're more confident in our sound."
The duo will open for Sia on her Nostalgic for the Present arena tour, which kicks off September 29th in Seattle. The North American trek runs throughout the fall, concluding November 6th in Austin, Texas.
