"A girl so beautiful sleeps on the couch/There's a little baby in her blouse/She is my only one true love in the world," Christian Zucconi sings on "Traumatized," Grouplove's hard-hitting new single. The revved-up garage-rocker documents the complicated emotions of parenthood – during which "time just seems to slip away."
"'Traumatized' is about becoming a parent, explores what my parents sacrificed when I was born, and shares the fear, excitement and bliss of being alive," Zucconi tells Rolling Stone. "Not to mention [Andrew] Wessen slays the guitar solo."
"Traumatized" previews the band's upcoming third LP, Big Mess, out September 9th via Canvasback Music/Atlantic. The album is available for iTunes pre-order, which includes instant-grat downloads of "Traumatized," "Welcome to Your Life" and "Do You Love Someone."
Grouplove have also announced the Big Mess Around, during which the quintet will perform three shows per day in New York City (September 9th) and Los Angeles (September 14th).
The band's Big Mess World Tour kicks off September 21st, with a North American leg launching October 5th in Las Vegas. One dollar from every ticket sale will be donated to charity: water, which funds clean-water projects around the world.
