The track notably features a sample of conservative pundit Tomi Lahren calling out Jay Z in a rant criticizing Beyoncé: “Your husband was a drug dealer,” she said. “For 14 years he sold crack cocaine.” Jay, however, owns the jab in a sprawling verse that concludes with the ridiculous boast, “Life made me ambidextrous / Countin’ with my right, whipping white with my left wrist / Damn Daniel / FBI keep bringing them all white vans through.”
Pusha, meanwhile, continues his sinister streak, ruminating on life’s many luxuries and the often nefarious means it takes to acquire them. The MC deftly ties this classic conflict into broader social issues, rhyming, “Who the fuck ain’t mastered this / America’s nightmare’s in Flint / Children of a lesser God when your melanin’s got a tint.”
“Drug Dealers Anonymous” marks Pusha T’s first new song since his second solo album, King Push — Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude, which arrived last December.
