According to reports, Hov and the British singer have reached an out-of-court settlement. Their legal battle started when Ora slapped Roc Nation with a lawsuit claiming that Jay Z’s label can no longer promote her as an artist because they are focusing on other endeavors.
Roc Nation countersued, hitting the 25-year-old singer with a $2.4 million lawsuit claiming they have tirelessly promoted her career and invested money in her but didn’t see no profit in return.
Ora signed a five-album deal with Roc Nation but only released one LP, her 2012 debut, Ora, which sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide.
Ora reportedly went on Snapchat to share with her fans that she signed a new deal, purportedly, with Warner Music. “Contract time!” she wrote in the caption.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Attorneys for both Jay Z and Rita Ora had no comment on the matter.
