Governor’s Ball ticket holders may still be in luck; they’ll get another chance to see their favorite artists. Kanye West, Chance the Rapper and more will be performing at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York City on Oct 1 and 2.
The Weeknd, Bryson Tiller, Mac Miller, Pusha T, Post Malone, Chromeo and Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley are also slated to take the stage at CitiField (within Flushing Meadows Corona Park.)
Although the two-day festival will not bring many of the acts that were featured in the cancelled Governor’s Ball. The Killers, Death Cab For Cutie, Father Jon Misty, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, Jon Bellion, Thundercat Big Boi + Phantogram are noticeably missing but there is a surprise guest that has yet to be announced for the Meadows event. For the Governor’s Ball the surprise guest was Prophets of Rage, a group consisting of members of Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, and Rage Against the Machine.
Unfortunately, due to a severe thunderstorm, the Governor’s Ball had to be cancelled earlier this month leaving a number of ticket holders disgruntled. Now, the Meadows aka the company that throws the annual Governor’s Ball, is aiming to make up for it.
Governor’s Ball ticket holders will have first dibs on tickets during a pre-sale on Wednesday (June 22) at 11 a.m. while the rest of the public will have to wait 24 hours to snag their tickets on Thursday (June 23) at 11 a.m. Get your ticket fingers ready. It all goes down.
