when he kicked a woman in the front row of his concert.
According to TMZ, Gates filed court papers claiming in response to the woman, Miranda Dixon, who is suing the rapper for the assault. The “I Don’t Get Tired” rapper claims in his suit that the 18-year-old fan continuously grabbed his shorts, which caused him to think that he might fall off the stage. Although he verbally warned Dixon once before the kick, the second time didn’t go too well.
The incident went down last August in Lakeland, Fla. so Gates is using the state’s controversial Stand Your Ground law as his defense in the case. In other words, he had no other choice but to kick her in the chest. It’s still unknown whether or not the judge will accept Gates’ reasoning.
In the meantime, Gates is heading back to the Sunshine State to kick off his Isiah tour in Jacksonville, FL. The 23-stop tour will take Gates throughout North America before he finishes overseas in the Netherlands.
We just hope the Louisiana rapper doesn’t kick anyone in his new tour.
