Kings of Leon announced a brief run of arena tour dates on Friday in support of their new album, Walls. The first leg of the tour encompasses 10 shows, starting January 12th in National Harbor, MD and wrapping up in Los Angeles on January 28th.

Walls is Kings of Leon's seventh studio album, and a change of direction relative to 2013's Mechanical Bull. "There comes a point when you realize you've lost that passion and that hunger," lead singer Caleb Followill told Billboard. "You're chastened and want to get it back – and in order to get it back it's like, 'Forget about record sales, forget about the size of the venue you're playing, forget about any of that stuff.'"

To help them reset, the band enlisted a new producer, Markus Dravs, who previously worked with Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons and Coldplay. "He just said things that nobody had ever said to us," bassist Jared Followill explained. "Like, 'I don't like that song, that's not good, we can move on from that.'"

To celebrate the release of Walls, Kings of Leon performed "Waste a Moment" on Today on Friday. The single recently hit No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart
