Kip Moore on European Tour, Impromptu Street Shows: The Ram Report news

Last year’s Country2Country (C2C) Festival, which recruits some of Nashville’s biggest names over for massive shows in London, Glasgow and Dublin, gave Kip Moore the confidence needed to plot his own headlining run across the pond.

“I could look out and see the fans not sure what to think of us, some were discovering us for the first time,” Moore recalls of his 2015 C2C performances. “But I just felt something different in the water, with the way they were responding to us. I told my team, ‘There’s something special happening there, and I know we can go over there and headline some big rooms.’ I don’t think they thought we really had a market over there.”

But Moore’s team was convinced, and the country star spent the latter part of April playing packed houses in the U.K. and Northern Ireland. The singer-songwriter says what strikes him most about his European fans is their passion for entire albums, beyond just the singles.

“When they invest in an artist, they discover all the music,” he says. “They know every single cut from the Wild Ones record, and they’re researching the Up All Night record. And they come up to you and tell you about these lyrics and what it means to them.”

Moore was so moved by his sold-out European audiences that he kept the party going in several cities, long after his encore. Armed with just an acoustic guitar, the singer went out in the streets to lead impromptu, post-show singalongs.

“The first night, we were in Dublin and we just heard lots of shouting out the back door and people singing the songs long after the show was over, and I grabbed a guitar and went outside and got right in the middle of them,” Moore recalls with a smile. “It’s just something I wanted to do. I wanted to get shoulder to shoulder and feel the energy off of them directly.”

Moore now has a bit of a break before resuming his stateside touring May 13th. Check out his concert schedule here.
