Over the last few weeks, Lil Yachty has become some what of a target for rappers who’ve released music in the ’90s, and he was asked about it on the red carpet of the 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

If you’ve been following, then you know the Atlanta rhymer has been blasted by legends like Pete Rock for seeming disinterested in rappers like Nas, Tupac and Biggie, as well as by Anderson .Paak for not knowing enough hip-hop history.

According to Lil Boat, however, some artists are simply out of touch and refuse to embrace change, and that’s why they’re angry.

“What do you think the real disconnect is between the guys of your generation who are doing music now and the guys from the ’90s … Who they don’t seem to able to get what it is that ya’ll are into?” a Bossip reporter asked on the red carpet at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

“N—- don’t no how to accept change,” Yachty replied. “That’s what it is. They old and washed up. I said it.”

Despite the Sailing Team leader’s apparent dig at older rappers, he still said he was excited to meet Snoop Dogg, who received BET’s “I Am Hip-Hop Award.” He also said he’d love to work with him, if ever given the opportunity.

“I wanna meet him,” said Yachty. “I never met Snoop Dogg … I just met his son, and he said his dad mess with me.”
