Music executive Lyor Cohen was hospitalized on Saturday (April 9) after suffering a pulmonary embolism, according to reports.

Hip-Hop Wired reports that the 300 Entertainment CEO went on Snapchat to share his medical scare with his fans. While in his hospital bed wearing an oxygen mask, the 56-year-old executive credited his son for saving his life.

“If it wasn’t for my son, and my best friend Norm, I would have been a goner,” he reportedly said in one of his video messages. He said his doctors told him that if he had waited four more hours to seek medical attention he would have been a “goner.”

In an ironic twist, Cohen said his doctor’s first name is Khalid. “You’re not DJ Khaled are you?” asked Cohen.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a Pulmonary embolism is a blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in your lungs. In most cases, pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from the legs or, rarely, other parts of the body (deep vein thrombosis).

We are glad that Lyor Cohen is alive and well. We want to wish him a speedy recovery.
