M.I.A. is mad as hell and she’s not going to take it anymore. After the nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards were announced, the outspoken rapper-activist went on her Twitter account to rant about why her video “Borders” wasn’t nominated for an award.

Directed by M.I.A. herself, the politically-charged clip featured the Grammy-nominated artist addressing the global immigration crisis and how it affects the innocent – mostly children.

M.I.A. lashed out at MTV for snubbing her video and called the music channel all types of “isms” during her Twitter rant.

“MIA – BORDERS is not included in the VMAs #hahahahhaahahhaha!! Racism sexism classism elitism #dontwantyourlane!” she tweeted.

“Not here 4 EGO or Accolades but know before you tell other [global] artists they have the same platform as major US artists coz they don’t,” she later added.

M.I.A. then jumped on her Instagram page and posted a photo of herself helping children with their education. The caption reads in part, “#f—theVMAs we don’t need their recognition!! Keeping our future in the books.”

Reps for MTV had no comment on M.I.A.’s heated response to the VMAs nominations.

But what do you think? Should M.I.A.’s “Borders” video receive a nomination? Or is she just bitter? Tell us in the comments below.
