Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are set to drop their album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, on Feb. 26, but before that, the musical duo has released the single “Buckshot” featuring KRS-One.

Over a DJ Premier beat, Macklemore recalls dreams of making it during the golden era of hip-hop. The song’s title also alludes to famed East Coast rapper Buckshot of Black Moon and the legendary Boot Camp Clik.

“I was in the back, back seat of the bus before a bluetooth / Got the boombox and a blunt, bootlegger deuce-deuce / H on my crew, we get drunk, a little coo-coo / Type of dudes who square up and knock a tooth loose,” he raps. “And all my city’s known for grunge, flannel, puck rock / And a bunch of Sub Pop, I was on that Buckshot.”

KRS-One breaks through with his always-recognizable voice for a verse at the end. “Turn up the CD or turn up the TV / Turn up your T-A-P-E, turn your phone up, crank up the PC / See, my boys are really PC if you’re talking graffiti / See, we call it aerosol art when we splatter the city,” rhymes “The Teacha.”

KRS-One isn’t the first legendary hip-hop artist to join the two on a track. Grandmaster Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee and Grandmaster Caz joined Macklemore and Ryan Lewis during their performance of “Downtown” at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

The forthcoming album will also feature YG, Chance the Rapper, Ed Sheeran, Leon Bridges, Idris Elba, and more.
