The Notorious B.I.G. has been immortalized into a statue and there’s a campaign underway to bring it to the later rapper’s hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y.

According to HipHopDX, Brooklyn-based artist Tanda Francis sculpted a six-foot-tall statue of Biggie’s face. The head was on display at the 210 Gallery in Brooklyn. The exhibit is over but the Hip Hop Hall Fame wants to move the replica to the B.I.G.’s neighborhood.

Organizers have created a crowd-funding campaign at GoFundMe.com to have the head bronzed, then moved and finally installed at Putnam Triangle Plaza in Clinton Hill, near Biggie’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. But all of that is going to cost money.

The Hip Hop Hall Fame hopes to raise $35,000 so the people of Brooklyn can officially have a landmark in Brooklyn, N.Y.

“He is considered one of the greatest MCs of all-time, who in a short period of time carried New York City hip-hop music success on his shoulders,” reads a statement from HHHOF. “This cultural arts attraction will surely be a tourist and economic draw as fans and tourists from around the world come to visit the #BIGGIEMEMORIAL.”

To put things in perspective, there’s also a memorial statue of Tupac Shakur at the Tupac Amaru Shakur for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Ga. Although the center has since shuttered its doors in 2014, the statue is still there. So it would be a nice honor to have a Biggie statue in the neighborhood he grew up.
