Now this is music to our ears (and stomachs). After the success of her sweet potato pies in 2015, Patti LaBelle is bringing five more scrumptious desserts to Walmart next month.
Starting next Friday (Sept. 2), a variety of Patti’s pies will be available at all Walmart stores. The sweet line-up includes Patti’s three cobblers: peach, berry and apple as well as an apple pecan cake and sweet potato loaf.
The desserts are kinda pricey: the cobblers are $6.98 apiece, while the apple pecan cake retail for $9.98. But these desserts were made from the hands of Ms. Patti LaBelle, so you know they are worth it.
The R&B songbird-turned-pie maker told PEOPLE that her cobblers were made from old family recipes and little bit of experimentation on her part.
“I’ve been cooking for most of my life,” she says. “As you’re standing in the kitchen and you think of certain ingredients, you just put them in — sometimes they work, and sometimes they don’t.”
Patti hopes to replicate the success of her sweet potato pies, which went viral last year when James Wright Chanel recorded a video of him singing over Patti’s delectable confection. You can watch him sing the praises of Patti’s pie below.
