Prince will be inducted into the Apollo Theater’s Walk of Fame next month. The induction ceremony will take place on June 13 under the Apollo’s iconic marquee and the Purple One’s Walk of Fame honor will be alongside other music legends such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones.

Afterward, the Apollo will present its 11th annual Spring Gala concert. Hip-hop veteran LL Cool J has been tapped to host this year’s event, which will feature performances by the O’Jays, Leon Bridges and Andra Day.

The gala after-party will include a special “Let’s Go Crazy” dance tribute with DJ D-Nice on the turntables, most likely spinning from Prince’s catalog. Additionally, Apollo’s Spring Gala will present its Corporate Award to Viacom for their philanthropic contributions and community leadership.

Meanwhile, Prince apparently was trying to see a drug specialist before he died. Dr. Howard Kornfeld, a California doctor specializing in opioid addiction, had been called on to help the late musician with a “grave medical emergency” in his final days. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, an attorney, with knowledge of the death investigation, said Prince was found dead one day before he was scheduled to meet with the doctor in what would’ve been an attempt to kick his alleged addiction to painkillers.

Recently, a source told the newspaper, that the painkiller Percocet was in Prince’s system when he died at Paisley Park on April 21. However, it’s unclear if the opioid contributed to Prince’s death.
