Prince‘s lawyer, L. Londell McMillan, is sharing some insight on The Purple One’s clean lifestyle and last days of his life.
In an interview with the Associated Press, McMillan, who knew Prince for 25 years, recounted the last time he spoke with his client on the Sunday before he died.
“He said he was doing perfect,” he recalled. “He said, ‘Ok, I’ll call you soon.’” The phone call apparently happened just days after Prince’s rumored overdose on Percocet that led to his plane to make an emergency landing in Illinois.
But McMillan says that Prince was “not on any drugs that would be any cause for concern.” He also added, “People use medication. The question is, are you on meds in a dangerous way?”
McMillan also made to sure to clear rumors about Prince’s lifestyle by declaring that the late icon was no druggie.
“Everybody who knows Prince knows he wasn’t walking around drugged up,” McMillan said. “That’s foolish. No one ever saw Prince and said ‘He looks high.’ It wasn’t what he was about.”
But above all, the celebrity lawyer said that Prince “had an amazing life.” “He enjoyed life,” he added. “He had a lot of fun.”
Between the fun and clean lifestyle, it’s understandable why McMillan said that he was “shocked and overwhelmed” after hearing of Prince’s death — along with the rest of the world.
McMillan was also one of the few A-List guests who said their last goodbyes to The Artist during a private ceremony at Paisley Park last weekend. “It was a very loving and special, solemn and very appreciative,” he said of the ceremony. “I think he would have been proud of how we celebrated his life.”
