R. Kelly recently showed his generosity when he offered to pay for the funeral of two toddlers who died after being injured in a house fire in Kankakee, Ill., on April 15.

According to Daily-Journal.com, after hearing about the tragic news, the R&B vet donated $5,000 to help cover the funeral expenses for the two young brothers, 4-year-old Justice Stewart and 2-year-old Ju’shaun Watson.

Police say investigators have “developed information on a person, who after being interviewed, is suspected of starting the fire [on April 13] at the apartment building.” The slain boys were pronounced dead two days after being injured in the fire at Loyola University Medical Center and Comer Children’s Hospital, respectively.

According to ABC News (WLS) Chicago, a 65-year-old woman suffered smoke inhalation, a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman suffered burns on their hands and 20 residents were left homeless.

Kelly heard about the tragedy from his tour manager, Kevin Gyles, who grew up in Kankakee.

“It’s part of the foundation’s mission to help people in need, uplift their spirits and make the world a better place,” said Kelly’s lawyer, Linda Mensch. “He was so heartbroken to hear about that fire.”

“He does all his charity work from the heart,” she added.

Props to R. Kelly for helping a family who are going through a tough time with the loss of two young brothers from a house fire.
