Rick Ross Hosts 'Port of Miami' Anniversary Concert in Miami news

It’s been ten years since Rick Ross released his debut album, Port of Miami and Rozay is celebrating it in a big way. He hosted a special concert in his hometown at Miami’s Biscayne Bay on Monday (Aug. 29). Not only did Ross perform, he brought Jeezy, Meek Mill, Rich Homie Quan, Wale, Trick Daddy, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Trina and Young Greatness along for the ride as well. And it was all streamed on TIDAL.

Ross’ debut album isn’t the only thing he has to celebrate. The aforementioned album also went certified platinum at the end of July.

Ahead of the anniversary concert, Ross spoke with Rolling Stone about the LP and the festivities.

“Me, 10 years in the game, I never would have imagined it,” he said. “I said this year, I wanted to celebrate the 10-year anniversary, and not just with my city, not just with a concert with my city. But I wanted to do something that the world would see and appreciate. … So this Tidal X event, it’s going to be live-streamed globally all around the world. The surprises, you gotta watch. Who coming, you wanna watch.”

In the interview he also claimed that it would be “the biggest concert of my life.”

As for his upcoming trial for alleged kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated assault, Ross is unsure when it will happen. “I don’t have a specific date just yet. But it’s real soon, over the next two months.”

Hopefully for Ross, it doesn’t mean the end his good times.

Catch out the concert over at TIDAL.
