Rihanna adds to the list of worthy recipients of this coveted award, which includes Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and many others.
Rihanna is also up for four awards, including Best Female Video for “Work” featuring Drake. During her career, the 28-year-old singer has garnered over 30 VMAs nominations, winning only three of them.
Fellow superstar Beyonce leads the pack of nominees with a career best of 11 nods for her visual album, Lemonade. Among Queen Bey’s noms include Best Female Video for “Hold Up” and Video of the Year for “Formation.”
Meanwhile, Adele nabbed eight mentions, while Drake grabbed six nominations, including Best Hip-Hop Video for “Hotline Bling.”
