It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Sampha, but the talented musician is finally breaking his silence. After months off social media, Sampha returned to Twitter and Facebook to share an important message with his fans.
“I’ve had a lot to process these past couple of years, as we all do. And it’s hard to articulate sometimes,” Sampha said. “I wanted to say thank you to all the people who’ve shown me so much love and support.”
Thankfully, it looks like Sampha’s time to himself is about to turn into new music. “I’m looking forward to sharing my music with you again,” he continued, giving fans a clear-cut sign of hope that we’ll be hearing new material soon.
Sampha has not been completely silent musically. He made a surprise comeback in April when his Kanye West collaboration “Saint Pablo” suddenly appeared on Apple Music. The song was quickly taken down from the service. There is still no official word on exactly what project this song is intended for or if the song will even be released officially.
Before his Kanye collaboration, Sampha’s was last featured on SBTRKT’s 2014 release, Wonder Where We Land, where he appeared on four of the album’s tracks.
Fans are incredibly excited to hear from Sampha and are responding to him directly with overwhelming support. “Hoping your staying positive, life is so very hard and it would be such a shame to the world if your beautiful voice wasn’t heard so this news has made me happy,” one Facebook user wrote.
