Sampha is gearing up for the release of his debut album, and on Friday he decided to drop the video for his single "Blood on Me." The surrealistic clip finds Sampha on the run, sprinting through wheat fields. "Blood on Me" is Sampha's first ever solo video, and puts him on display in a way that he's shied away from before.
"Blood on Me" is the latest single from Sampha's upcoming debut album Process, which will also contain the previously released song "Timmy's Prayer." Although Sampha has worked with some of the biggest names in music, he remains a bit of an enigma. Despite high-profile placements on songs like Drake's "Too Much" and Kanye West's "Saint Pablo," Sampha has eschewed the spotlight, instead releasing music at his own pace and carving out his own lane.
He alluded to this when discussing the process of making his album back when "Timmy's Prayer" dropped. "I've had a lot to process these past couple of years, as we all do. And it's hard to articulate sometimes," he said. "I'm looking forward to sharing my music with you again." This process has included working with indie darlings like FKA twigs, SBTRKT, and Jessie Ware, as well as the Drakes and Kanyes of the world.
