A Scarface concert in Lansing, Mich., ended in gunfire following a brawl that broke out inside the venue early Sunday morning (March 13).
Reports are sketchy, but according to Lansing State Journal, three people were shot and wounded inside the Fahrenheit Ultra Lounge and Grill where Scarface was performing a concert. Police say that several people were fighting in the club before the shooting.
All three male victims were rushed to a local hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police have no motive or suspects at this time.
According to a reporter for the EURweb, who was at the concert, the former Geto Boys member was finishing his hour-long set when the shooting occurred. Afterward, Scarface had no comment about the unfortunate incident.
City officials made a separate announcement on Sunday that they will seek the removal of the club’s liquor and cabaret licenses, which will ultimately shut the venue down.
“Enough is enough,” said Mayor Virg Bernero via a statement. “I’ve had it with the lax security at this establishment and I cannot in good conscience allow them to continue operating in this city.”
Scarface was in Michigan as part of his Icon Tour. Since the start of the trek in early February, there haven’t been any interruptions like this until now. The 45-year-old rhymer has six dates left on his excursion, which wraps up on April 1 in his hometown of Houston.
