ScHoolboy Q got Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show feeling right Wednesday night. After a week of remarkably un-turnt musical guests, Q gifted Colbert with something to save them all: a righteously hyped performance of Blank Face LP cut “THat Part.” According to sources, no Crying Jordans were harmed during the filming of this performance.

Q freshened up the song of the summer contender with some noticeable verse flourishes and a “Groovy Tony”-inspired intro, capitalizing on the impossible-to-contain stokedness of the audience that was lucky enough to hear Q perform the track for the first time ever in Montréal earlier this month.

Sadly, Kanye West didn’t turn up at Colbert’s studio to lay down his own Chipotle-assisted verse for everyone in Colbert’s dystopian TV land. This also means that the mesmerizing school bus scene from the “THat Part” visual was tragically not recreated on stage. Bummer.

Q’s Blank Face LP drops next week, meaning you know he had a listening session this week, which also means you know something very interesting went down. According to multiple reports from those lucky enough to be in attendance at the New York event, Q revealed that the Miguel collab “Overtime” was forcefully added to the album by his label:

Ahead of the album’s release, Q also dropped a short film entitled “By Any Means.” Many blunts are smoked during the short’s opening moments, before the cinematic Q joint eventually transitions into a full-on music video for a new track featuring the one and only Kendrick Lamar.

Blank Face LP hits your phone July 8.
