See Kanye West's 'Famous' Video Screened on NYC Buildings news

Kanye West screened his controversial “Famous” video Monday night across six New York City buildings, following the clip’s debut last week at Los Angeles’ the Forum. The rapper tweeted out locations, without specifying the screening times, sending fans on a scramble across the city.

While “Famous” is currently streaming on Tidal, several tweets tease portions of the video, which finds West and the likenesses of several celebrities – including wife Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby and George W. Bush – naked in bed together.

West, expecting harsh blowback from the video, tweeted last week, “Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.” But the rapper hasn’t earned much feedback from the clip’s “stars.” Brown did respond via Instagram by playfully complaining about his double’s “plumber’s butt” and calling West “crazy,” while a spokesperson for Bush noted that the former president is “in much better shape” than his synthetic replica. Ray J’s entertainment manager told Buzzfeed he is “considering all options in regard to this video.”

The most outspoken critic has been Girls creator-star Lena Dunham, who recently blasted the video in a lengthy Facebook post, calling it “sickening” and “one of the more disturbing ‘artistic’ efforts in recent memory.” “I can’t watch it … if it feels informed and inspired by the aspects of our culture that make women feel unsafe even in their own beds, in their own bodies,” wrote the writer-actress.
