The 11-song broadcast culled songs largely from Simon & Garfunkel tenure ("Homeward Bound," "The Sound of Silence"), Graceland ("The Boy in the Bubble," Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes," "You Can Call Me Al," "That Was Your Mother") and the singer's latest LP Stranger to Stranger ("The Werewolf," "Wristband").
Simon's "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard," "Rewrite" and "Cool, Cool River" filled out the televised set, which was recorded May 16th at Austin's Moody Theatre.
Also slated to appear during the venerable music series' 42nd season this month are James Bay and Rhiannon Giddens (October 8th), Robert Plant (October 15th), Florence + The Machine and Andra Day (October 22nd) and Iggy Pop (October 29th). Upcoming episodes feature performances by My Morning Jacket, Grupo Fantasma and Natalia Lafourcade.
In addition to those artists, Foals, Margo Price, Band of Horses and St. Paul and the Broken Bones have scheduled upcoming ACL tapings.
