See Rushs Decade Spanning Tom Sawyer Megamix news

This month marks the 35th anniversary of Rush’s landmark album Moving Pictures, and to celebrate the occasion, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted prog rockers have unveiled a “megamix” for the LP’s most popular track “Tom Sawyer.” The live video seamlessly weaves together footage of Rush playing “Tom Sawyer” over the past 13 years using performances of the set list staple culled strictly from the band’s steady stream of concert films.

The “Tom Sawyer” performances used in the Adam Jones-edited Megamix span from 2003’s Rush In Rio, 2005’s R30, 2008’s Snakes & Arrows Live, Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland, 2013’s Clockwork Angels Tour and, most recently, 2015’s R40 Live, a document of what could Rush’s final tour of that magnitude.

“Are we going to tour again?” Geddy Lee asked in a visit to the Rolling Stone offices in November. “That’s the question that I’d like to know myself.” Rush’s future lies in the hands of drummer Neil Peart, who has weighed retirement following years of tendonitis and shoulder issues. After wrapping their R40 Live tour in August 2015, Rush have not scheduled any new concerts, though they haven’t entirely closed the book on performing together again.

“We don’t have any immediate plans for that,” Lee saud. “Right now we’re on holiday. I hope once the new year rolls around and the juices get flowing and we get hungry again we can talk about that.”
