In Garbage's eerie "Magnetized" video, singer Shirley Manson holds court in a laboratory fit for a horror film. Scientists experiment on children wearing TV screens that project veiny eyeballs. An ominous-looking little girl walks down a hallway, carrying a teddy bear with glowing eyes.

"We made the video for 'Magnetized' at Pancake Mountain Headquarters in Los Angeles with an incredibly gifted team under the madcap direction of my next door neighbor Scott Stuckey," Manson said in a statement. "We wanted to create an ode to the magic of science and the mysteries of love."

"Magnetized" is an industrial-rock highlight from Garbage's recently released sixth LP, Strange Little Birds. In April, Manson discussed the album's "vulnerable" themes with Rolling Stone.

"It struck me the last time we were on the road that I've never really written much about love or fragility or vulnerability," she said. "I wasn't sure why this was the case, but I wanted to address that because I feel like every time you make a record you feel like, this might be the last record I make. I might die tomorrow. I may as well try and speak about the things I want to speak about now. The record – at least from a lyrical standpoint – is a romantic record. What I mean by romantic is just that it is vulnerable, and it is fragile."
