Icelandic band Sigur Rós debuted their first new song in three years, the tense “Óveður.” The band debuted the track in the middle of a 24-hour livestream of a journey through Iceland’s coastal ring road.

Jonas Åkerlund directed the clip, which was shot in the small town of Grindavík on the Rykjanes peninsular. The video features a homeless woman drinking from a bottle of alcohol in the middle of the country. She gets more and more drunk over the course of the clip until she ends up passed out on the floor of a bar as a gun shot-like beat plays. The bar’s patrons mostly sit back and watch her descent until the images of them grow unsettling, with blood shooting out of mouths and eyeballs, tongues swirling and bodies maimed and grotesquely naked. The woman finally passes out, surrounded in fire as matching twin girls look on.

Sigur Rós first premiered “Óveður” during their set at Primavera Sound. Over the course of the Slow TV road trip broadcast, the band premiered bits of new music though they have not revealed more titles or information on a possible album. This fall, the band will embark on a tour of North America and have promised new material for the intimate theater shows.
