Solange has unveiled a behind-the-scenes documentary for her new third album, ‘A Seat at the Table.’

Solange contemplates melodies, experiments with vocalizations, jams ideas and tests out new sounds in new short documentary, A Seat at the Table, Beginning Stages gives a sneak peek behind the creative process the artist traversed while making her third album, A Seat at the Table.

The behind-the-scenes clip explores the early moments of the album and also features songs ideas that did not make the final cut. However, those experiments helped flavor the album.

"They helped to create and identify the sonic tone, and the early lyrics and concepts Solange wrote for the project," reads a statement in the video's description.

While some of the early ideas were nixed, "Don't Touch My Hair," "Mad," "Don't You Wait" and "Where Do We Go" are among the album's final tracks that are highlighted in the film, giving insight into the songs' developments.

Album collaborators Sampha, Sean Nicholas Savage and others – including her son Julez – make appearances in the clip, which was filmed in Long Island, NY, New Orleans and New Iberia, LA.

"Three years ago I moved into a small house in the middle [of a] sugar cane field in New Iberia, LA, with just my engineers" Solange explained in a post on Facebook, so that she could "finish all of the lyrics as well as structure and produce the jam sessions that have now become the songs on the album."

Solange's surprise album, A Seat at the Table, was released digitally last Friday. She unveiled the videos for "Cranes in the Sky" and "Don't Touch My Hair" earlier this week.
