Sheila E. Talks Prince Memorial Service, Turning Paisley Park Into a Museum

Prince鈥檚 longtime collaborator Sheila E. wants to remembers the legendary musician in a special way. The percussionist hopes to turn his Paisley Park estate into a 鈥減ermanent memorial鈥 to The Purple One.

Sheila Escovedo talked with ETOnline and revealed details about Prince鈥檚 memorial service given at the Paisley Park estate last weekend. “It was very somber. It was sad,” she said.

“What was challenging yesterday was listening to his music at a very low soft volume and the room very low in lights and everyone just taking a moment, just sitting there, kind of going, ‘Wow,’ [in] disbelief,” she added.

Sheila E. later explained her plan to honor Prince with a museum sharing his never-before-seen photos and memorabilia with his fans.

“We’re hoping to make Paisley what [Prince wanted] it to be. [He] was working on it being a museum,” she said. “He’s been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle.”

Sheila E. has shared the stage with Prince for much of his career, even during his rise in the 1980’s with his celebrated album,聽Purple Rain.

We cant wait to see if Sheila E.’s plans will come to fruition. If Elvis Presley can have a Graceland, which attracts tourists all over the world, Prince can surely have a Paisley Park where fans can go and honor the fallen legend.
