Steven Tyler has yet to announce a full-scale solo tour, but the Aerosmith frontman is still gearing up for a handful of one-off performances this spring and summer. First up is a benefit show at New York City’s Lincoln Center, where Tyler will perform with his Nashville-based band of country coeds, Loving Mary, on May 2nd.

Proceeds for the Lincoln Center show are being earmarked for Janie’s Fund, which Tyler launched last November to help young women overcome the trauma of child abuse. The organization was partially inspired by his own “Janie’s Got a Gun,” a 1989 Aerosmith hit whose main character shoots her father after years of incestuous assaults. To help lighten the mood, the May performance — titled “Steven Tyler. . . Out on a Limb” — will include stories from Tyler’s childhood, his time with Aerosmith and his new headquarters in Nashville, mixed with video direction from film producer Brett Ratner.

“I’m digging deep and finding some real buried treasure for this one. I’ve never performed quite like this before,” says the singer. “I’m telling it like it is and getting to perform with some extremely talented musicians and dear friends from Nashville.”

Tickets to Tyler’s New York show go on sale this Friday, April 8th via Ticketmaster. Also on the books is a June 11th appearance at this year’s CMA Music Fest, where the living legend and Loving Mary will co-headline a Saturday evening bill at Nissan Stadium. It’ll be the largest show of his solo career.
