There’s a good chance that T.I. just dropped one of the most thought-provoking songs of his career with “War Zone,” and the video for it is just as provocative.

Directed by Lauren Richardson and released by Tidal, the clip follows three Caucasian men who play Tamir Rice, Philando Castile and Eric Garner respectively, who were all killed after having run-ins with the police.

The twist here, though, is that all the cops in the vid are being played by African-Americans, so it appears that Tip is asking what the societal reaction would be if white kids were killed by black officers.

In the first scene, you can see one young man leave his sizable suburban home, only to be shot down by the police after pulling out a toy pistol. Then in the next scene, another guy is being wrestled down by officers on a street corner, in the same way Garner was in the Summer of 2014.

The last actor in the clip plays the role of Castile, who was shot inside his vehicle after being pulled over for a broken tail light. Undoubtedly, the director did a stellar job of capturing the sheer tragedy of all three moments, although she switched the roles of the officers and the victims completely.

Of course, T.I.’s lyrics have to be mentioned here as well, since he’s once again proven that he’s a well-rounded MC, who can either rhyme about wealth and flyness or political issues.

“I’ll die to save a million lives / Appointed leader when nobody couldn’t think of s— / I’ll be a martyr if my great-granddaughter benefit / They pull you over, ask you where your license at / Be careful reaching for it, you know you can die for that,” spit the Grand Hustle leader.
