The rash of fatal police shootings, including the latest victim Paul O’Neal, is certainly touching a nerve with the hip-hop community. Rapper T.I. is now calling for action among black people on his just release protest song, “We Will Not.”

Over a bass-heavy beat and plucking synths by producers Mars and Mike & Keys, Tip takes a stand against police brutality and social injustice.

“No we will not stand here in silence while they take the lives of our brothers and sisters and partna / We will not turn a blind eye to the murder with no repercussions / No we will not / We will not lives on our knees, we will die on our feet / This ain’t no lie that I speak / All you youngin’s out here in the streets only want to shoot people who look like you / You could stay home, you too weak,” he raps.

T.I. is not only rapping about social change, he’s been on the front lines of helping black people become empowered. Recently, the rap vet along with T.I., Young Thug, Killer Mike and Young Dolph opened new banking accounts at Citizen’s Trust, a black-owned back in Atlanta.

T.I. was also among the thousands of protesters who marched in the ATL following the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Apparently, T.I. is working on some new music. Following the release of “We Will Not,” the Grand Hustle leader wrote on his Instagram page, “Just some words I had on my heart to share. Entire EP soon to come!!! #USorELSE #WeWillNot.”
