The 1975 performed a pair of new album singles on the Larry David-hosted, Bernie Sanders-guested episode of 'Saturday Night Live'

The 1975 served as the musical act for the Larry David-hosted, Bernie Sanders-guested episode of Saturday Night Live, with both the Democratic candidate and the Curb Your Enthusiasm star appearing onscreen together to introduce the British pop-rockers.

For the performances, Matthew Healy and company shared a pair of singles off the band’s upcoming second LP I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, “The Sound,” which was bolstered by a sextet of background singers, and the INXS-indebted “Love Me.”

Recently, the 1975 visited the Rolling Stone offices for a video interview where they talked about the diverse sounds of I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, due out February 26th. “We want to be really postmodern,” Healy said of the upcoming LP. “We want to create in the way that we consume. There’s not really room for bands that do one thing anymore because people don’t consume just one type of music.”

On SNL, Healy also got to hang out with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who made a surprise appearance during the Weekend Update to promote Zoolander 2.
